Sons of Eden Marshall Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016
Deep crimson in colour this wine bursts out of the glass with ripe berry compote, underpinned by lifted violets and subtle dried herb aromas. The palate is modern, fresh and lively displaying a rich mid-palate complexity. Approachable now, but will develop and mature well for many more years.

Sons of Eden is the venture of winemaker Corey Ryan and viticulturist Simon Cowham, who both learnt and refined their skills in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley. Corey is a trained oenologist with over 20 vintages under his belt, having cut his teeth as a winemaker at Henschke. Thereafter he worked for Rouge Homme and Penfolds in Coonawarra, backed up with winemaking stints in the Rhone Valley, and in 2002 took the opportunity to work in NZ for Villa Maria Estates. In 07 he won the Institute of Masters of Wine scholarship. Simon has had a similarly international career, covering such diverse organisations as Oddbins, Yalumba, Heggies and Pewsey Vale vineyards. With this background, it comes as no surprise to find that the estate-grown wines are of outstanding quality.
The Marschall is a Barossa Shiraz, named as a tribute to the legendary Barossa Valley Vignerons who pioneered the planting of the old treasured vineyards, which Barossa enjoys today.
