Casas del Bosque Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Pale, clean, lean, yet fruity in a classy way. Made from grapes grown in the cool climate Casablanca Valley, where winemakers are discovering the advantages of planting on hillsides, as in the better areas of the old world. On the nose intense notes of lime, green melon and fresh ginger dominate with just a hint of salinity. In the mouth, bright flavours of ginger and citrus zest give way to a tight mineral backbone and rapier-like acidity. Delicious served chilled as an aperitif, or paired with light pasta dishes, salads or poultry.

The Casablanca Valley is situated NW of the capital Santiago and the Casas del Bosque estate tjhere is 70kms inland from the Pacific Ocean. Cooling breezes, hillside vineyards and good ripening conditions all make this area very suitable for th cultivation of white varieties and cool-climate red varieties. The white grapes are harvested at night to maintain their freshness and the resulting wines are fruity with a good balance and acidity.
