Chateau Nardou Francs Cotes de Bordeaux 2014 Vignobles Dubard
Chateau Nardou is situated 10kms east of St Emilion and the clay-gravel soils of the south facing vineyards suit the red varieties of the Bordeaux region, in this case predominantly Merlot (80% of the blend) and the two Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon (10% each). This wine is deep purple in colour with aromas of dark fruits and hints of oak. The Cotes de Bordeaux are known for producing fruity, appealing wines and this is a good example of that.

The Dubard family are family vignerons based at Chateau Laulerie in St Meard de Gurcon in the Dordogneidepartemen. They produce a range of wines from various vineyards which they own rangong from dry white through rose and clairette to red wines in the Bordeaux style. Indeed one of their top wines is Clos des Grands Moines from lalande de Pomerol.
The philosophy of the family is to produce modern wines which respect the traditions of the area. Chemical intervention is kept to a minimum in the vineyards and yields are relatively restiricted. The grapes grown over the estates are those familiar to fans of Bordeaux: Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec..
