Tenuta Villa Trasqua, Tuscany, Italy Villa Trasqua is situated in the very heart of Chianti country and extends over 120 hectares of land, of which only 50 are for the production of wines, with ten hectares(over 3,000 trees) set aside for the production of extra virgin olive oil; the rest is woods and arable land. Within the estate there is a very specific microclimate as the vineyards are on the slopes of a very large amphitheatre called Trasqua. This remarkable, south-facing landscape not only captures all aspects of the sun during the day, but allows for cooling breezes to come down from the surrounding hills at night and enables them to harvest fully-ripe and aromatic grapes that are slowly and carefully made into complex and authentic terroir-driven wines of the utmost quality.
