THESE ARE OUR TEN FAVOURITE WINES.


1 .COURT GARDEN CLASSIC CUVEE 2009.  £21.99  

This is English sparkling wine at its best, from the Court Garden Farm Vineyard in East Sussex.  Pale yellow in colour it has a light floral nose with citrus aromas and a touch of sweetness.  In the mouth it is full of lemon flavours with a sherbert finish.  

2.    PETIT BOURGEOIS 2010  Domaine Henry Bourgeois..£11.49.  Why have Sancerre when you can have this terrific Sauvignon Blanc made from grapes grown from just outside Sancerre's border.  Terrific value.

3. DRAPPIER CHAMPAGNE NV. £26.99 A Pinot dominated Champagne from a fine boutique Champagne house.  Mid gold in colour it has a lively slightly creamy mousse with aromas of lemon, nuts and brioche.  The palate is dry with apple flavours and a good crisp acidity.

4. PROSECCO MIONETTA . £9.99 From the Mionetto Vineyard in the heart of the DOCG Valdobbiadene-Conegliano area comes this first class Prosesso.  Intensely fruity on the nose with  hints of golden apples.  It is dry on the palate, fresh, light bodied and well balanced.  A must buy.

5. MILES FROM NOWHERE SEMILLON/SAUVIGNON 2010.  £8.99.  (Australia).  A great value  blend of Semmilon and Sauvignon blanc, which is delightfully balanced with crisp herbaceous flavours and a clean purity.  It offers a taste of Margaret River at a fraction of the price.

6. CHATEAU FONTESQUE 2005.   £18.99.

7.CH. DE BRAGUE BORDEAUX SUPERIOR.  £9.99.  A smooth and easy drinking Bordeaux superior.  Excellent value, and a good all rounder.

8. CHABLIS TREMBLAY.  £14.99. A truly old fashoined Chablis. It is abundant, generous, ample and persistant with well developed flavours and aromas.

9.VILLA WOLF PINOT NOIR. £10.99.  Full of strawberry fruit and red berry aromas.  One of our favourites.

10. PECHARMANT.  2008. DUBARE.  This delightful red from Bergerac is medium to full bodied.  Made mainly from  Merlot grapes it is soft and smooth and is a great value to St. Emilion.
