Our Opinion A great example of the 'classic Speyside' style, the BenRiach 12 years old is our 'flagship' expression and is created by combing malt whisky matured in both ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts.

Tasting Notes Nose: Honey, vanilla, floral, fruity with well balanced wood overtones. Colour: Mid-amber, hints of gold. Taste: Rounded, medium-bodied, rich honey, vanilla with hints of cream, spice and chocolate.

Method of Production The product is a distillate of malted barley, and has been matured for a minimum of 12 years in oak casks, in this case a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks. There are 5 key stages in the production process - malting, mashing, fermentation, distillation (double distillation at Ben Riach) and maturation.
