Churchill's 20 Years Old Tawny Port is an expression of Douro terroir combined with delicate ageing in seasoned oak casks.
Our Opinion A wonderful 20 year old Tawney, from one of Douro's 'Grade A' estates. In this winery, pressing is done by foot, in the traditional style in ancient granite lagares. Fantastic.
Tasting Notes A full mature brick red in colour with a complex and intense nose, with notes of rich dried fruits combined with hints of green pepper and tea. Rich and focused fruit flavours on the palate, combine concentration with structure, finishing with lingering acidity and excellent balance.

Method of Production The grapes are hand picked into small boxes and then processed into ancient granite lagares, where they are pressed by foot during fermentation. After fermentation, the wine goes through an ageing period in seasoned oak casks for approximately 20 years and then blended before bottling.
