This is a young vibrant wine so it requires decanting for it to reach its potential. Good nose spices and earth notes. Wine is a full body dry red. Notes of raspberry, black pepper and wet earth. Good finish with caramel and cloves.

La Grave is located in Blaignan, the only village to be 100% certified AOC Médoc.

Chateau La Grave is a Cru Bourgeois property that covers 23 hectares of densely-planted vines on a mixture of clay, gravel and limestone soils in the village of Blaignan, 10km to the North of the village of Saint Estèphe. The wine is made from a blend of 59% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. After fermentation its aged  for 12 months in 1/3rd new oak casks.

This mostly Cabernet blend from the Medoc on the left bank of Bordeaux is a superb value. Chateau La Grave Medoc shows notes of dark plums and forest floor. The palate is medium bodied with plenty of earthy tones, and well integrated tannic structure.
