Ernst Loosen bought the historic Villa Wolf estate in the early 1980‘s in order to complement his existing estates in the Mosel Saar Ruwer area. The Pfalz region is situated to the north of Alsace and as with the Alsatian vineyards, the vineyards of the Pfalz are protected by the Haardt mountains from the damp Atlantic weather. This means that the Pfalz is one of Germany’s driest and warmest regions, enabling the winemaker to produce fuller, drier wines.

The Villa Wolf estate near Wachenheim grows a range of the traditional Alsatian varieties: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sylvaner, Gewürztraminer, plus Pinot Noir, which ripens well inthis warmer climate.

Red cherry, peach and strawberry flavours mingle with a slightly fruity impression on the finish. This is a delicious though delicate rosé that would work well with outdoor events and lightly spicy foods. It’s yet another classy offering from the Villa Wolf estate which shows why light rose’ works so well in summer as a great allrounder.
