This is the top wine of the estate and is made in very restricted quantities. It's predominantly old-vine Syrah with some old-vine Grenache, oak-aged for three years with further maturation in bottle. So, think big northern Rhone e.g. Cornas or Hermitage, only this is a less austere wine from a warmer region. It's dark, almost black, and dense with high alcohol (15%) which it gives it a rounded finish and an extremely full texture reminiscent of Amarone. in fact, it's such a rich wine that it could function as a replacement for port at the end of a special meal with cheeses or nuts.
