Château Corbin was established in 1600 and is one of the older in the appellation. It was a large estate comprising 480 hectares which, at the time of the French Revolution, was divided into different estates. Château Corbin now comprises 23 hectares; 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Jacques Rambeaud who owns the estate is a fourth generation owner. His great grandfather bought the Corbin estate before the second world war. Since Jacques Rambeaud took over from his father in 2005, he has overhauled the vineyard management and introduced careful oak ageing – 40% of the wine is aged in 1-4 year old oak.
