The pivotal year of 2002, marked by its erratic weather pattern, which gently nudged the vines into yielding fruit that encapsulated the classic austerity of Old World sophistication. The result brought to the fore is a wine with a gracefully evolved profile where tertiary nuances have emerged to cradle its innate Margaux elegance.

This particular vintage from Chateau Lascombes showcases a measured ripeness, enveloped in nuanced layers of blackberry and truffle, coupled with an underpinning of fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity. Upon the palate, one is greeted by a mélange of dried cherry, cedar box, and subtle hints of tobacco – a harmonious blend that echoes the complex temperance and aristocratic bearing that the year solicited.
